adventurous “flapper” girls. The straight sided drop waist dress with
handkerchief hem was worn with tunic tops made out of revealingly sheer
fabrics. It was daring to attract attention to the youthful, healthy body
underneath the clothes instead of concealing it with the conservative
garments of earlier years. Available in sizes XS-XL (in same package)

Paris Promenade Dress

f261a.jpg (48673 bytes)

The Paris Promenade Dress - In the second decade of the 20th century, a revival of 1700s Directoire fashions produced loose flowing gowns reminiscent of Classical Greek costumes.  Simple, voluminous gowns like this were shaped by wrapping them to the body with decorative cords and sashes.  The accessories of choice were long strands of pears and cords with tassels or beaded pendants.  This simple but elegant dress, from the 191801920 period is made from just three main pattern pieces.  The full dress shape is defined at the waist by a self-fabric sash that passes underneath the bib-shaped overdress in front and ties in the back.   Each packet contains sizes XSmall to XLarge.
